COVID 19 UPDATE
Updated: Mar 23
Optique Vision will remain open from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday for as long as we can.
As stated by the Irish Association of Optometrists: "Optometrists today advised the public to telephone their eye-care provider for information, or advice on services – many of which will remain available. The Association of Optometrists Ireland re-assured patients that many of their needs could continue to be met without unwanted contact – and patients should ring their Optometrist in advance for information. For example, if people were to lose or break their glasses their Optometrist can prepare new glasses for safe collection, observing social distancing, without the patient needing to attend at the practice. Similarly people can call for contact lens supplies which can be prepared for collection without close contact. In circumstances where people have immediate eye-care concerns, people can ring their Optometrist for guidance. In cases of emergencies Optometrists will be available to examine patients, while carefully following guidelines on sterilisation, and use of masks and gloves to prioritise patient safety." In the meantime we leave you with the following advice - if you have concerns or questions check the HSE Website, WHO Website or Irish Government Website. Mind your mental health - speak to someone, virtually if necessary! Maybe take a break from scaremongering WhatsApp groups and Facebook feeds. Washing your hands with soap and water thoroughly, using the method outlined by WHO (shown below) is your best defence against any Virus. When you are out and about for essential excursions remember: Hand sanitizer is only effective if you use it according to the method outlined below. Maintain social distancing, follow government guidelines. Do not touch your face, spectacles or hair. Do not rub your eyes. Touch as little as possible, use your non dominant hand for doorknobs, transport, bathrooms etc because it is difficult for you to touch your face with that hand. Go well, we are all in this together. Be kind to each other.
